Puddle

The Puddle is an element of the Disorient mythology.

Puddle meanings over the years:

2001: A state of consciousness of Disorienters i.e. "Man... I'm a puddle."
2002: A lounging configuration involving a flock of Disorienters. Puddles were the Disorient equivalent of the chill-out areas at raves. Large Disorient events often have spaces dedicated to Puddling. This lead to the term Cuddle Puddle which later became widely used outside of Disorient.
2004-2009: The first Disorient web-based forum ran on phpBB. It was named Puddle as the virtual equivalent of our physical Puddles. The Puddle was vibrant. Many other platforms (Asana, Facebook, Twitter, IG, Slack, etc.) used by Disorient could never replace the Puddle. The closest to the Puddle is the Disorient Discord started in 2022. The wiki was started in 2010 as a tentative to replace the Puddle. It never did but became a valuable repository of Disorient info.
